For the time being, the earnings season is running well, more than 80% of the companies reported higher numbers the market expectations for net income, revenues, operational margins, etc.
Nasdaq 100
Microsoft Q3 (Nasdaq 100) report is highly expected. It will be reported after the market close. The expected EPS from the market is $0.68/share
PayPal Holdings Inc (Nasdaq 100) will report their Q3 report today. The expected EPS is $0.35/share.
American Airlines Group Inc (Nasdaq 100) will report their Q3 report today. The expected EPS is $1.69/share.
American Airlines Group Inc - The airline earned $1.76 per share for the third quarter, seven cents a share above estimates. Revenue was slightly above the Street's consensus. CEO Doug Parker noted the success of the company's integration efforts following its merger with US Airways.
Dow Jones 30
Travelers Companies Inc (Dow Jones 30) will report their Q3 report today before the market open. The expected EPS is $2.38/share.
Verizon Communications Inc (Dow Jones 30) will report their Q3 report today before the market open. The expected EPS is $0.99/share
Travelers Companies Inc - The insurer earned an adjusted $2.40 per share for the third quarter, two cents a share above estimates. Revenue also came in above forecasts. Profit did fall from a year earlier, however, due to higher weather-related losses, but premiums did rise to a record high.
Verizon beat estimates by two cents a share, with adjusted quarterly profit of $1.01 per share. Revenue fell slightly shy of analysts' forecasts, however. The company said it is in the midst of transforming itself in a "challenging environment," but noted strong profitability and customer loyalty.
